Beauty or Brains… What Do You Prefer?
People ask this question all the time, almost as if the two can’t exist together.
As a model, I’ve learned that many people make up their minds about you before you’ve even spoken a word. They see a pretty face, a nice outfit, a few photos online, and suddenly they think they know everything about your personality, your intelligence, your ambitions, and your values.
The truth is, beauty opens some doors. It grabs attention. That’s just human nature.
But attention doesn’t build relationships.
Attention doesn’t solve problems.
Attention doesn’t make someone loyal.
Your mind does.
I’ve met incredibly attractive people who couldn’t hold a conversation for five minutes, and I’ve met people who weren’t considered “model material” who could light up an entire room simply because of the way they thought.
Looks fade. Fashion changes. Trends come and go.
Character has a much longer shelf life.
That doesn’t mean beauty isn’t important. Taking pride in your appearance is a form of self-respect. Feeling confident can change how you walk into a room and how you present yourself to the world.
But confidence should never depend entirely on your reflection.
Some of the most successful women I know invest just as much time reading books, learning new skills, building businesses, and helping others as they do taking care of their appearance.
That’s the kind of beauty that keeps growing.
So when someone asks me whether I’d rather have beauty or brains…
My answer is simple.
Why choose?
Take care of your body.
Challenge your mind.
Be kind.
Be curious.
Be confident enough to know that your face might get someone to notice you—but your mind determines whether they’ll remember you.
Now I’m curious…
If you had to choose just one, which would it be?
Beauty or brains?
Leave a comment below and tell me why. I can’t wait to read your thoughts.
