Summary

Hello, I am using both the Yanfly Self Switches/Self Variables and the Galv Event Spawner plugins. Until yesterday, when I tested these together, self variables inside spawned events worked fine, but since yesterday this seems to have broken. When I spawn the event shown in the below screenshot "Spawn Event", using the event "Spawner", it displays weird behaviour. Hello,
I am using both the Yanfly Self Switches/Self Variables and the Galv Event Spawner plugins.

Until yesterday, when I tested these together, self variables inside spawned events worked fine, but since yesterday this seems to have broken. When I spawn the event shown in the below screenshot "Spawn Event", using the event "Spawner", it displays weird behaviour.

What is supposed to happen is that at player touch (and I also trialled this with the action button with the same results), the event's Self Variable 783 "Watered" changes to value 1, and then shows this value in the text box.

Following this, the event is then watered and a separate event uses this "watered" value to process other things in the game.

However, as you can see in the final screenshot, the event says "I am watered" but the self variable displays as zero. What is extra weird though is that when I interact with the event again, it does NOT show the text box again (it skips this step), so somewhere in the code, it must know that Var 783 = 1, even if it's not easily accessible.

I've been wrecking my head trying to figure out where I went wrong with this but I am getting nowhere. I am hoping it's something really obvious I'm just not spotting, and you guys can point me in the right direction.

Alternatively, I found this post from two years ago about Self Switches from the Yanfly event not working properly in Galv's event spawner (& the fix) so perhaps I need to do something similar for Self Variables?

Thanks all for having a look.
Lui

/EDIT: Self variables continue to work fine in other parts of these events so I must have made a mistake somewhere... but I've found a workaround for now. I'll report this as solved for now but if anyone spots my error I would be forever indebted if you PM me :-D
