Summary

Hi, This is about this plugin: https://github.com/MrSlip777/plugins_talk_live2d_cubism4 I read this thread: https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/show-live2d-characters-in-rpgm-mv.140324/ The demo folder of a completely assembled displayable Live2D model referenced no longer exists, probably due to licensing issues.

Hi,

This is about this plugin: https://github.com/MrSlip777/plugins_talk_live2d_cubism4

I read this thread: https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/show-live2d-characters-in-rpgm-mv.140324/
The demo folder of a completely assembled displayable Live2D model referenced no longer exists, probably due to licensing issues.

Other required javascript files both have to come from the Live2D Web SDK and be renamed.

Currently when I talk to the event, the event only has a command to display the model when talked to, or erase the model.

I am only interested in getting the model to display at this point but need to go over a few things, as I'm a novice to RPGMaker and Live2D plugins. So this is essentially hobbyist and amatuer dev work.
Attached are screenshots of the project folder (this is just a test model and won't be in the final commercial product) plugin lists and plugin commands.

There is one video on Youtube of a user who managed to get a Cubism4.0 PRO version model exported and displayed in RPGMaker MV for about ten seconds. But this was in 2015, probably with a much older version of the plugin and definitely not Cubism4.0

The machine translation for the instructions on GitHub (using Chrome) seems accurate. I'm about 90% certain this is a stupid pathing or filename problem, as I grabbed raw sample data from the Live2D site (but was unable to confirm it was Cubism4.0) and the test data displayed here which was intentionally exported as Cubism4.0

Attached are images of the project folder, plugin order, plugin code, and the short event code in-game used to try to display the model for a test.

The plugin looks straightforward once the appropriate files are renamed, if the model data is 4.0 and situated correctly under the './assets/<modelname>/' folder and there are no capitalization/case issues, this should just display the model using the basic motion data (I am not yet concerned about the commands to toggle the motions, or editing the model data to bind it to the motion data)

I've tried to get the model to display but there's no response to the plugin command at all. The event just turns and returns to its fixed direction.

If anyone has basic experience with this plugin, I'd appreciate a look before I seriously consider RPGMaker MZ or WOLF RPG Editor for ease-of-use.

ADDENDUM: I found out my test model was exported as Cubism 4.2 instead of 4.0 first and foremost. The sample data I have from the Live2D site is verified in their Live2D Cubism Viewer for Unity as 4.0

which still begs the original question as to why nothing displays, as the model works properly in the Cubism viewer with no folder changes and triple-checking the paths. I've updated the attachments accordingly.
