Summary
I use the YED and Yanfly sideview battle plugins so that I can have nice animations for my characters. And I use battle events with the "if win/if lose" options so that I can easily make something happen after a loss. The problem is that once the party gets wiped, it'll say "party was defeated" and when you hit enter, it'll start to fade out and as it's fading out, the character sprite will instantly pop back up to it's default "walk" animation. You can see it in my image....

The problem is that once the party gets wiped, it'll say "party was defeated" and when you hit enter, it'll start to fade out and as it's fading out, the character sprite will instantly pop back up to it's default "walk" animation. You can see it in my image. The black sprite has my normal nonlooped death animation, while the white sprite uses a looped 1 frame animation which is why the white one stays down the whole time.
That's the only way I can figure out how to keep the sprite in it's death pose during that fade out but that's not very fun for me since I lose my nice animation.
It seems that the fade out happens right before it triggers the "if lose" event stuff, so I'm not sure how to get around it. I'm posting here to see if anyone has any ideas.
I uploaded the test file if anyone wants to check it out: https://www.mediafire.com/file/zmssqvi8keuaays/testanimation.zip/file
