Summary
I suspect my system doesn't like japanese filenames, and japanese is the first language I suspect given the game's origins. I am installing the english version via steam and steam can't download it. There are no plugins, this is a straight vanilla download via steam. I haven't been able to get far enough to actually execute MV because the failed install prevents steam from allowing me to run it. Windows version: wine-1.9.23 (the latest version)

Just to be clear, since the wine guys got confused on this: The problem I'm reporting is a disk write error that prevents installation, not a mere font rendering issue.
