Summary
Trying to create a map function by using a seperate room that acts like a world map where you can locate yourself on the world and where to go etc. What happens is by activating a common event, it records your location data- teleports you to the other room and when pressing the back button you resume your previous location. When teleporting to the map your character is set transparent and your party is turned off, you cannot access the menu and your speed is changed. When returning to the...

What happens is by activating a common event, it records your location data- teleports you to the other room and when pressing the back button you resume your previous location.
When teleporting to the map your character is set transparent and your party is turned off, you cannot access the menu and your speed is changed. When returning to the map- your graphic is meant to return to normal, your speed normal and your menu access restored. The problem is- none of those functions work and to top it off- you can no longer move. I have absolutely no idea what is the conflict here.
Here are screen caps of my efforts.
First image is the common event that you activate that teleports you to the map room.

Second image is an event that runs the exit function. When returning to the room you previously where before- it ignores these commands entirely EXCEPT for the button to teleport back.
