Summary

A long time ago I played a game called Dragon warrior monsters.  I liked the "warping" effect that warped the whole screen.  Though I'd like to be able to create my own variations of this. What I want to know is how to make something like this? Was it made with a video of some sort? Was there something altered to make the screen appear that way? If it requires a unique plugin just provide me with what exactly needs to be altered, I don't mind learning how to recreate...
