Summary

Persona 5 is the latest instalment to the Persona series, and with it, a completely new and overhauled combat system. For me (and many others), what makes this turn based battle system iconic, and potentially innovative, is how they completely erase the menu for selecting commands by assigning each action to a specific button. Of course, since Persona 5 hasn't been released internationally, so I haven't played the game and thus, I can only speculate how it plays out. As you can see, the key information would be the guard command assigned to the 'X' button, 'Circle' for melee attacks, 'Square' to use items and 'Triangle' to use spells. The rest seem to be exclusive to the games battle system, which I assume could be ignored.

My question is, is it possible to recreate something similar via events? Or is a plugin mandatory? Apologies if this was posted on the wrong thread. I believe this question would be a mix of 'Can I do this without plugins?', and a genuine plugin request.
