Summary

I've noticed very annoying hitching when instant transferring between maps (have not tested with fading but I'd assume it happen still.) What happens is that you'd be able to transfer between a map fine a few times, but at random an annoying hitch/freeze will happen. This can vary from being small (so not that noticeable) to very long (5 - 20 seconds.) This is VERY problematic in my project as it requires many quick transfers between maps. Any plugins? No none at all, even the default splash plugin is disabled. ...

Any plugins? No none at all, even the default splash plugin is disabled. 


To re-create the bug simply just create two map transfers, set them to instant transfer and to place the character at the same position as the map transfer event in the other map (for each.) Then just quickly transfer between maps, after a few times of transferring (6 - 30 times) you'll notice some very annoying hitching/freezing. 


This doesn't just happen on my pc, as it was more noticeable on a much slower laptop my partner is working in. (The computer I work on is actually really fast) If fixing this ends up making instant transfers slowly overall but more consistent to each other in how long it takes, I'd much rather have that then random freezes. 


I've provided a sample project of just two rooms (differently designed to notice the room transfer) Each room has a portal event which when pressed on transfers you between maps. Alternate between both rooms and you'll notice hitching after a few times (varys from 4 - 6 times to 20 - 30 times.) The length of the hitching also varies from a second to 15 seconds. 


This is a VERY important thing I'd love to see fixed if possible, as it really ruins the pacing of my project at times and will frustrate players. (I mean my friend has experienced a 50 second freeze... at random (as it didn't do that but once every 15 - 30 transfers) )
