So I have been avoiding this for a while but I definitely need to touch on this now. Since my switch from VX Ace to MV, I haven't been able to use a lighting script to take care of lightsources for me so I'm at a loss of ideas. I have been fiddling around with creating a charactersheet and set it to blend-mode "additive". It looks alright but the problem is, whenever I switch maps, they take about a second to switch from normal to additive, which looks awful. I...

Since my switch from VX Ace to MV, I haven't been able to use a lighting script to take care of lightsources for me so I'm at a loss of ideas.
I have been fiddling around with creating a charactersheet and set it to blend-mode "additive". It looks alright but the problem is, whenever I switch maps, they take about a second to switch from normal to additive, which looks awful. I included a picture of what it looks like in-game with additive active.
Any ideas on how to fix that? How do you guys do your lights? Thanks for any feedback on this topic.
