Summary

How would i do this? I made a picture and binded it to the player's screen x and y, and set the picture to 100 so it would be above everything else (and changed the opacity down a bit, it's also on additive), but when I have the screen tint to complete 0, it only shows this picture in the middle of the screen or wherever the player is and nothing else. I'm trying to make it so lights pierce through the screen tint. I'll need this for the lights...

I'm trying to make it so lights pierce through the screen tint. I'll need this for the lights in the maps too, like torches and fires and such, I'll be doing all of those with pictures.

Am I missing something? The last time I did this was in XP years ago. I feel like there's one or two steps I'm just not quite getting right.

I don't want to use the lighting scripts because they're a little bit buggy for what I'm doing, and I want more customizable lights/shadows. So I'm doing all of them with pictures, but it seems that the pictures don't pierce through the screen tint, they just kind of go on top of it, which is not what I'm looking for  Is there any way to do this?

This is the image for the lantern overlay I created.
