Summary
Hi, I was wondering how I would do 2D side scrolling in the style of LISA: The Painful. Ex: I've thought of multiple ways to do this, such as using A Parallax Map, but LISA doesn't use Parallax maps for the ground, they're used for the sky background. I also thought of doing it with a blank tile for walking, but it makes the character look like it's floating:

Now I'm stuck, and can't think of anything else I could do. (And I know about the Arc Engine, this game isn't going to have realistic physics and platforming though)
