Even though I've been a member of the site for a long time, I've never made much progress with any of the games I've tried to make, and usually shyed away from writing and making scenes in general, focusing more on mapping and database, hence the noob eventing question. For the opening of my game I wanted two guards to walk up to the protagonist as he monologues. I tried to accomplish this by using two events. The first one, an autorun one, containing the text, which activates a self switch upon finishing, so it won't repeat. The second one is a parallel process and controls the npcs movement, upon completion, it activates a switch. This switch would trigger the second part of the protagonists' monologue, which is located on the first event.
But the thing is that, upon reading the first monologue (and then the self switch of the first event activating), the npcs stop walking for some reason. There doesn't seem to be a relation between the two events. Sorry if my question is silly or I'm missing something obvious.
Instead of providing many pìctures, here is the project for you to check out.
I know the monologue is kinda of crappy, it's a work in progress.
