Hello everyone,

I'm new to RPG maker but have been really enjoying putting stuff together on it. While I feel like I've picked up a ton of stuff just through trying and seeing what does / doesn't work, I've got to the point where I'm trying to make an intro sequence and it just doesn't seem to be working. Any help would be really appreciated Essentially, I'm trying to put the following things together:

1. Game starts, camera pans up slowly across the map to a certain point.
2. One of the in-built animations is triggered on the map (a kind of force-fieldy thing).

3. Out of the centre of the animation pops a character (a-la they've appeared out of thin air), who then goes about a bit of a scripted set of moving / talking.

Further to this I want the animation to repeat itself (at the same point on the map) and two further characters to enter in the same manner. More walking / talking etc., two of the three people will wander off the screen and then the player is left in control of the one remaining one to start the game. I haven't got to trying to script any of this extra stuff besides what I've listed above by number though as I've never got those three things to work.

So, for point number 1:

This seems to work fine, by the way. Game starts at this point on the map and camera pans up as scripted. My approach from the event is for this to finish, start a new event and also close this one through the self switch.

Point number 2:

This is where I get puzzled, particularly as sometimes when I've tested the game this event actually works, then other times (presumably after I've accidentally fiddled with something) it doesn't. Currently, it doesn't work but I can't see why - set to start after the switch from point 1 is ON, set on "autorun" so it should just go etc. It might be important that at the moment this is only half set up to close through the self switch; the extra pages on this event are currently empty.

Finally, point number 3:

I've never got to the point where this event has worked once, but again it looks like it should - set to start after the previous switch is ON etc.

So yeah, I don't see why these events aren't running into each other. As it stands the game does the camera panning one and then everything just stalls and nothing else happens. I'd really appreciate any help; have been trying to do this for ages now!
