Summary
As a treat to myself for finishing my class!! (party balloons and noise makers!!!!!) I am going to celebrate by recreating a new version of Aindra's Dungeon Circus in Ace. And one of my favorite parts is the fishing game and the animated fishes. Jumping Fish sprite by Aindra. Nice, right? {

As a treat to myself for finishing my class!! (party balloons and noise makers!!!!!) I am going to celebrate by recreating a new version of Aindra's Dungeon Circus in Ace.
And one of my favorite parts is the fishing game and the animated fishes.

So, have you ever seen code that works, and you think for all intents and purposes it just really oughta not?
Well that is how I feel whenever I look at this stuff by Aindra.
I really believe it works (because I see it work in the demo and in her Dungeon Circus game.)
However, it is either quirky or messy or I am missing something.
So I have - surprise! - questions.
(These are VX events but I plan to implement in ACE so please answer according to the way ACE will behave. =])
There are two events. One shows a fish occasionally jumping out of the water without creating a splash when it lands and the other creates a splash when it lands.
Here is the run-down:
A note - the first pages in these two events have no graphic showing - they are not graphics with the first slot open or something; they have "none" chosen as their graphic.
First question - re: first pages on both events
How can "turn down" accomplish anything when there is no graphic?
And I think the Autonomous move route was just a boo-boo on page one, but should it be there?
Does it mess with anything to have it there?
Second question - re: recreating these events in ACE
Couldn't I just make this all one move route with a wait at the end on one parallel process page ?????????
I think the problem she was wrestling with by adding the "turn down" in the first page was that the fish graphic would need to be reset so that it wouldn't start in the middle of a jump graphic.
But I wonder if she was just getting a conflict with that weird move route on the page or soemthing.
I know she struggled with this event for quite awhile.
I guess I just didn't want to be arrogant and think I could just go do it in one quick swipe when I know it drove her nuts. But can't this be done in a more streamlined way?
