Hello! You cute people!

I played around with RPG Maker MV, trying out some things, but I never really started my own project. I want to create a base, drawing some basic sprites and finding out how to implement core mechanics before I start something big.

Implementing my own actor sprites, animated enemies and images/effect for attacks doesn't seem to be thaaat hard, I found some scripts for it. But one big problem I have with MV is the fighting system, it's a really big issue for me. I really don't like the classic system with the “Fight / Use Item / Defend / Flee” etc. options and a ton of skills with small icons and text. I want a more Gacha like battle system for my game, replacing all these options with selectable icons – the focus of my Demo isn't on fighting, so I want to make it simple but still nice looking. I created a simple mockup for this:

A picture of the selected character should appear on the right cornor and you see his/her skills. No "Attack/Defend/Items/Flee/Options" window with text or numbers, just the skills. I want to use my own icons and animations for it, but I'm not sure if it's even possible to throw the classic MV battle menu away. The row with the skills isn't necessary, it can also be a ring or whatever, but I really want to use icons/pictures only! Does a script like this exist?

Maybe something that can replace the items/flee/defend etc. options with different simple "Attack" buttons?

I don't know anything about scripting, I'm more into drawing sprites, backgrounds and parallaxes. I found Luna Engine for MV, but it's really expensive and I don't know if it could do what I want and if it needs a lot of knowledge in scripting. x.x I also like the idea of having elemental damage types and cooldowns over rounds (found scripts for it), but I'm not sure if it would work with Luna Engine anyway. x.x
