Hi to all the scripters out there! There is an aesthetic issue in MV I'd love to solve, but as I cannot script for the life of me, I have to rely on you guys. The problem: Weapon sprites in MV always appear behind the battler sprite. This is fine for most occasions. If you want to use glove weapons, however, it looks strange.

Hi to all the scripters out there!
There is an aesthetic issue in MV I'd love to solve, but as I cannot script for the life of me, I have to rely on you guys.
The problem:
Weapon sprites in MV always appear behind the battler sprite. This is fine for most occasions. If you want to use glove weapons, however, it looks strange.
The creators of MV circumvented the issue by designing a really weird standard glove weapon, a fist you hold with your fist… looks ridiculous imho
I made a few weapon sprites that look a bit more realistic (handwraps, knuckles, … example see below), but the weapon sprite is almost completely covered by the battler's hand, ruining the effect. You can use the weapon sheet below to test it out and see what I mean.
Protected download
The solution:
If there was a plugin (expanding on Yanfly's Weapon Animation, for example) that allowed to change the priority of a weapon sprite by note tag, pushing it on top of the battler sprite… that would be awesome! Of course the weapon sheets have to be carefully designed to be just as big as a characters fist (whereas my example is still a bit too big).
With a bit of tweaking you could even make left-handed characters a thing.
So if yo think this might be possible, please give it a try.
If such a plugin comes to be, I'll share the rest of my glove-weapons here, so everybody can make the most of it.
If not, I guess I'll drop glove weapons entirely.
Thanks and have a great day BD
