How do I rotate an object?

Summary
Sorry for being such a newbee but I am trying to figure out how to rotate a chair or table. They appear in the object to place in a map but they only face in one direction. I know there is probably a key shortcut to do this but I need them to face sideways if possible to place along a wall or at a table in the map. Thank you for being so patient with me. I am new at this.

I know there is probably a key shortcut to do this but I need them to face sideways if possible to place along a wall or at a table in the map.
