Rpg Maker Developers Group

So im at a point where i want to change the starting menu and possible the ui of my game. with me being new to game i just want it to look alittle different look then the basic menus. its kind of a basic game which im making for a few friends i want them to play and my kids. but the default menu are boring. i got a ui pack which i will link at the end. i like the horror ui they have and im not sure how i go about using them. there a simple play settings exit buttons i like but like i said im new. do i need to use plug ins or do i need to common event it. like i said im maybe 200 hours in rpg maker. and you most likely will tell me to just use default stuff but i dont want to do that. and ive never used a plug in either so maybe having 1 plug in might not be so bad if someone helps me with it.
