Summary

This request is focused on improving the front view battle visualization. Front view lacks a lot of visual feedback that would make it more enjoyable. I really liked a few of the Yanfly scripts for ACE, particular Battle Engine and Cast Animations in combination with each other. I am lumping this all into a single request knowing it is not a minor task.  The changes include Instead of listing the party members vertically, list them horizontally. This is vital for the next set of features.

This request is focused on improving the front view battle visualization. Front view lacks a lot of visual feedback that would make it more enjoyable.

I really liked a few of the Yanfly scripts for ACE, particular Battle Engine and Cast Animations in combination with each other. I am lumping this all into a single request knowing it is not a minor task. 

The changes include

  1. Instead of listing the party members vertically, list them horizontally. This is vital for the next set of features.
  2. For each party member display their name, portrait, HP/TP/MP as well as any active status effects(status effects would be icons).
  3. Have a dedicated spot in the character portrait to show what action type they have picked for that turn.
  4. When characters cast spells an animation should play above their portrait.(cast animations are separate from the spell animations)
  5. Enemy attacks would have animations that play above the targeted team members portrait(s).
  6. When attacked display status changes over  the character portrait. Life loss/gain, poison, evade etc.
Probably other stuff that makes sense with all this, but this is the main stuff. Attached is an example of the battle menu without any status effects over the portraits. I think these additions would make front view a much more viable option for those of us that prefer it over side view.
