(MUFFLED SCREAMING) OK, I'm SO sorry for the confusion you guys. At first I accidentally hit ctrl+ENTER and prematurely sent the thread starter, and THEN while I was trying to rewrite the damn thing I accidentally backed out and for some reason nothing was autosaved! Not to mention editing the damn thing after that was proving impossible (probably due to my bad connection to top it all off) I'm so frustrated I feel like I'm going to rip all the keys out of my keyboard and EAT them! OK, I'm SO sorry for the confusion you guys.
Anyway, this is probably my final (and most important) cry for help in the scripting department for now.
At the moment, I'm using Yami's Pop Message script, which is all fine and good and I'm willing to stick to it if I have no other choice, but I did notice right off the bat that it's kind of lacking in the functionality department.
Really, I would have stuck with RMXP for the project I'm working on, had it not been for the clunky cbs and cms scripts and my inability to manipulate them properly. As it is, I'm left without the best Message System I'd ever come across: dubealex's Advanced Message System
However, while AMS is the best example of what I prefer, it is not the exact object of my every desire, as I have no need for a good deal of the functions it provides. It has an incredibly long list of functions, and all I need are the following:
- Messages & speech arrows following the actor as they move
- The ability to call a message above, below, to the left, and to the right of an actor
- The ability to have multiple messages appear at once on a screen
- Call Choices within the message box, rather than outside (this is very optional)
- Player/event movability while a message is playing (also very optional, not entirely needed)
- Control message speeds with in-message commands
- Manually call Popup messages without the speech arrow (to be used as item get messages and the like)
I don't know how hefty of a request this actually is, though considering that I've only seen Pop Message and one other, both of them being equally glitchy and limited in functions, I'd suppose it's a pretty huge one-- so I'm not going to rush anyone. If it takes a while, I'm willing to wait as long as need be, and if it's impossible, I'll just live with what I've got.
I at least hope that my request is considered.
If anyone has any questions, I'm willing to answer to the best of my ability. For those who want the skin & image file I use for Pop Message, they can be found in the spoiler below.
and for those with RPG Maker XP, dubealex's AMS is found here: (also link) (also this link because it has a list of commands on-page)
I hope It's not too much of a bother.
Thank you very much for your time.
