Sam Neill ◈

Sam Neill was a New Zealand actor whose quiet authority, dry humor, and emotional range carried a career spanning more than half a century. After early recognition in New Zealand and Australian cinema, he moved easily between intimate dramas, thrillers, period pieces, and large-scale adventures.

He became internationally beloved as paleontologist Alan Grant in Jurassic Park, while performances in My Brilliant Career, The Piano, Dead Calm, The Hunt for Red October, and Peaky Blinders showed the breadth of his work. He was also a writer, winemaker, and generous advocate for New Zealand's creative community.
