Introduction

By default, the "Optimize" command in RPG Maker has always been somewhat...underwhelming. It has never done anything more ambitious or exciting than add up all the basic param bonuses offered by each piece of equipment and equip the one with the highest number. This results in some ludicrous scenarios like you having some armour with 5 def and another piece with 4 def which gives you immunity to death, poison and silence while increasing max HP by 20% and halving the encounter rate. The default system will pick the one with 5 def just because its basic params are higher. And that's where Optimize Plus comes in! This plugin makes mediocre optimization a thing of the past by taking traits into account as well when deciding what the best piece of equipment is. But it doesn't end there! The weighting of each trait, and even the individual aspects of that trait, are fully customisable using the plugin parameters and optional notetags. Want to give more consideration to equipment that unlocks new skill types? No problem! Want a pair of mages where one prefers equipment that offers fire resistance while the other favours ice? You can do that! Want a thief who mainly looks for equipment that allows dual wielding? As easy as pie.

Download the .js file for the plugin, add it to an empty slot in the plugin manager, set up parameters to your liking, and read the help file for usage instructions and an example setup.
