Hi all,
So after some research and testing, it seems I once again don't understand how to get the desired effect, or it's just one of those things RPG Maker MV loves to screw around with.
Weapon Damage Resistance:
I have a weapon. I set it's element to a new type, also called "Weapon"
I make an enemy. According to the "Element Rate" choice, "Changes the damage multiplier according to the specific element. The higher the value, the greater the weakness against the element."
Sounds pretty straight forward.
So why does my enemy who should be very resistant to weapon damage take +100 damage. Whereas a regular physical attack does next to nothing (I know the defense is a little high for the enemy, but that doesn't seem to change much)?
1. Attack - Simple Attack, simple formula.

2. Weapon Used - Sword. Just adds 50 damage to the attack power.

3. Enemy - Cave Golem. Stats are reasonable, but to take +100 damage from a sword when the player attack power is only 30 sounds crazy.
4. Added a State hoping to double down when the Element Rate didn't work.
