Summary
I am using RPG Maker XV Ace I began making my first game using a wonderful Tutorial I found on this site that brought me to http://www.scribd.com/doc/88474618/beginner-s-guide-to-rpg-maker-vx-ace. Great guide, and it allowed me some awesome first user experience about how some basic tools work and how to setup my first project as a learning experience. I've also used these http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/6125-my-official-video-tutorial-thread/ tutorials on the basic use of each of the actual menu buttons to help with understanding what the first Tutorial isnt always clear with immediately.

So far, I've been able to plan basic events, and manage branching triggers, custom stores, dialogue, transports, individual triggers and story flow switches with only a little bit of trouble. Most of that information is easy to reproduce in the game space without too much difficulty, what I need some directional advice comes from placement and spacing.
So here is a few screen shots with what I've been building right now.

If you're familiar with the first tutorial you'll notice I've deviated a little bit from the picture of the tutorial town and buildings. I'm only using stock assets at this time, as my first project intends to be incredibly simple and small giving me room to learn the tools available and expand on the experience incrementally so I don't drown in detail and errata that would otherwise detract from the overall experience.
Additionally if you are familiar with the tutorial I'm using, would you pass on any additional steps that can be added to flush out my experience with the core tools and resources that are available?
For example- I didn't want to use the stock dialogue in the opening sequence to the town, so I altered the character motivations and included an event sequence that has the characters staying at the Inn on a supposed "hero's honeymoon". I then wanted to activate a trigger that would cause a new character that wasn't visible on entering the Inn to appear and pester the 'Hero', asking for his help as he must be a warrior given that he has a sword, which the 'hero' reluctantly agrees to investigate.
I figured out how to do all this using other available resources on this website in the forums, but it had been born out of a desire to perform something that did not initially appear as if I could do it, I stumbled on the possibility by mistake when I was writing my first event and my actors kept disappearing which gave me the idea to try and turn this bug in my event making into a feature for another event.
This provided me with an interesting tool to work with in the future, but I found it purely on accident. I want to take a bit of a shortcut and see if the community has any further advice on useful, but not obvious, features in the RPG Maker tool that a newbie who has the patience to learn could find useful.
Thanks in advance,
"I fear no King with a thousand men and all the riches of the world! I fear but a single man, with a sharp blade... and nothing left to lose".
