Summary

In Final Fantasy 9, there existed Trance- a state that gave a character overall stat bonuses plus additional effects (new skill types, double-casting, etc.) when a gauge was filled up. I already have the means to create this effect thanks to Yanfly's tips & tricks video on it, but it was the presentation of this ability that really resonated with me and is one of the reasons why I enjoyed FF9/take inspiration from it. I already have the means to create this effect thanks to Yanfly's tips & tricks video on it, but it was the presentation of this ability that really resonated with me and is one of the reasons why I enjoyed FF9/take inspiration from it. Essentially, without spoiling anything for those who haven't played it, a party member would gain the ability to go into trance when they were hit with a surge of emotion (i.e. Harold is losing a duel against his rival, Eric, but THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP™ gives him strength and he enters Trance.) It makes key battles much more intense, and helps them stick out further.

Of course, that's the easy part. Just put an event in the battle page to set a character's TP to 100 and give them the state at the start of the battle. My request simply involves clearing up some visual noise.

This screenshot comes from one of the first few battles in the game. Note how only the ATB gauge is present.

The above screenshot was taken during the first major boss of the game, after Zidane acquired the ability to go into Trance.

That's my request. A way to hide the TP gauge for individual characters until, say, a switch has been turned on.

That's how you write a lot only to convey a simple point. I'll do your school papers for $10 per page :^)

I'm not sure if this is possible with plugins or not, but I put it in the plugin request forum just in case.
