It would need a few key features, standard in most barter based shopping.


Likely Required:

  • Limited Shop Wallet (That is remembered)
  • Limited Shop Inventory (That is remembered)
  • Some sort of UI allowing for 'selling' and 'buying' selection. (ex: Screenshot)



(Something to consider for 'content' but not exact requirements. The GUI would likely be much different)

Optional:

  • Dynamic Buy/Sell ratios (Shop pays @50%, sells @150% of MSRP based on barter skill and possibly individual relations)







A plugin that did all this would simply be adding to the default shop functionality. If the player had only cash, it would be no different. But without cash, or if the shop has a limited wallet, than barter adds an entirely new depth to buying and selling. Especially when shop keepers are limited in availability.
