Summary

I would very much like to extend the battle system for RPG Maker MV to allow the following: - Enemies placed in "groups" (similar to Dragon Quest VIII etc.). - Some attacks/skills affect all enemies in a specific groups (as opposed to "single enemy" or "all enemies"). - Enemy groups can appear on multiple sides of party (above, below, to left, to right).

I would very much like to extend the battle system for RPG Maker MV to allow the following:


- Enemies placed in "groups" (similar to Dragon Quest VIII etc.).


- Some attacks/skills affect all enemies in a specific groups (as opposed to "single enemy" or "all enemies").


- Enemy groups can appear on multiple sides of party (above, below, to left, to right).


- Enemy and actor attacks/skills usable and chances to hit depend on position and facing of actor relative to group.


- Enemies and actors can change position and facing as tactics demand.


So as a quick example, refer to the attached image:


- Enemy groups on red squares.


- Party on green.


- Melee on orange.


- C can use missile / spells to attack X and W, but is completely vulnerable to attacks from Y.


- B and E can use missile / spells to attack Y. E is semi-vulnerable to Z, B is semi-vulnerable to Z if they use missiles / spells.


- A and D can melee with W.


Now, I'm confident that I can code a battle system like this ( coding JavaScript applications is half of my day job), but I don't know the MV libraries well enough to integrate it properly into the game. So:


- Is there already a plugin that can supply this functionality? (I can't find one.)


- Is there a full specification of the RMMV battle system interface available somewhere? (Again, I can't find one.)


- Would anyone be interested in collaborating on a project to create such a plugin?
