Hey! This is the first time I post here, but I have a really cool idea that I could not find elsewhere. I LOVE RPG Maker VX Ace and I have played it way to much! But sadly the combat is a bit dull. So this is my request.

This is the first time I post here, but I have a really cool idea that I could not find elsewhere.
I LOVE RPG Maker VX Ace and I have played it way to much! But sadly the combat is a bit dull.
So this is my request.
Is it possible to make a script that, before you are attacked, gives you a window of time to pick a counter attack?
For example:
You are an duelist and you are fighting a foe using a sword. It's his turn and the enemy uses a side slash skill and attacks you.
Just before you are hit, you press the left key arrow(or whatever) for a left counter parry. The enemies attack is deflected and
he is damaged/killed.
So apart from having your normal skills, I want hidden parry skills that are only shown when you are attacked.
The plan is to have about four parry skills - up, down, left and right(and maybe upgrade them for special attacks?).
This will make every turn feel more engaging and fun!
The "window" before you are struck should show you what kind of parry/riposte you can use, and what key bind they have.
This small event should be timed and picking the wrong "parry skill" will fail the parry.
A fail could be to use "up parry" when the enemy attacks from below.
It could be similar to Galv's Timed Button Attacks that shows you the key bind in the "air" with the corresponding parry.
I am sure there are smart people out there who knows how to make this best work.
Scripts I'm using.
I am using Yami Battle symphony (side way combat)
And it would be great if it was compatible with that. This is NOT a requirement though.
Making all of this work is more then enough!
