Summary

I'm currently working on a First Person MV Raycast Plugin for RPG Maker MV. While there currently exists some fantastic 3D plugins, I wanted to create something that put more emphasis and control into the First Person side of things. I wanted to create a purpose-made First Person plugin that could be used for a variety of different gameplay styles.

Development is still ongoing as there are still some performance issues that need to be addressed.

I'll be posting a video link to a demo of a General Adventuring type of gameplay below, but I will also note that I will be making several demos as I progress through the Plugin Development. Some other types of gameplay that I'll be creating supporting plugins for using the FPMV Raycast plugin as its core will include:

Horror - This will make more use of lighting, flashlight use, and more.

Dynamic Action - This will primarily be including First Person combat, such as sword play, spellcasting, and even gunplay later on. My focus on this will be to try and create a plugin in such a way where you can create your own Doom-style or Wolfenstein-3D style game, though I'll try to make it as encompassing as I can for different styles of development. The Dynamic Combat will be intended to act as an alternative combat method aside from the built-in turn-based combat system, rather than being a replacement so that both options can be used if needed.

Multiplayer - I absolutely want to create a multiplayer adaption with this setup. I'm currently debating on how I'll be working to set this up, however.

More Pending... - This is primarily driven by whatever I can come up with. If I think of something new to add, I'll typically work toward trying to add it in.

A quick note: I only own RPG Maker MV and do not have access to MZ or any other versions. That's why at this moment I'm only creating this plugin for MV. That may change in the future once I can get my hands on MZ. Additionally, the only plugins in my Demo that are used are the standard Community_Basic for resolution changes, and my FPMV Plugin.

Update (June/13/2026):

I've created an Itch io Page for where I'll release the plugin. I'm also using the Itch io page to allow people to download the Demo's that I create to showcase the Plugin(s). The Horror Demo has been released, if anyone would like to try it out. It's cheesy, silly, and made very quickly, so there's no coherent story, super scary images, or anything of the sort.
