Summary
Hi guys, I'm having some trouble with branching paths. I started noticing that when I have a scene with branching paths (even simple ones), live preview tends to NOT preview certain segments of the screen. Furthermore, the program starts to lag, and then the CPU usage of VNM will jump from about 10%-13% to 20% or more. This is a consistent problem, and I've recreated it on the empty template, using both the Condition and Check Switch commands as the basis of the conditional branching. In fact, I recreated your...

This is a consistent problem, and I've recreated it on the empty template, using both the Condition and Check Switch commands as the basis of the conditional branching.
In fact, I recreated your Conditional Choices tutorial with the door and the window (EXACTLY as laid out in your manual), and Live Preview will start to blank out after the window label (ie Show message: "It's dark outside. I can barely see anything. Where am I?" will NOT be live-previewed and VNM will start to lag. I've attached a screenshot below, with that particular Show message command selected. There's no background or anything, but at least in the earlier portions of the scene, messages like 'You investigate the door." will be previewed.
The funny thing is, when I run the Live-preview from the start of the scene, everything works fine and I can go through the entire scene without a problem. It's just that VNM seems to chug (slow, but still working) when I am working on the areas below that first set of choices, and Live Preview just gives up.
I tried using the F12 debugger, and everytime I have that up, it pauses on this screen. I have no idea what it means though. Maybe you can explain?
And this is the console view:
SIDE TOPIC: I get a lot of these ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND errors. In my other project, I have a lot of errors regarding my sound files. It seems to look for them as WAV files yet I imported them as OGG files.
If you want to take a look at my troubleshooting project, you can download it here. In it you'll find my recreation of your Conditional Choices example, and two basic samples of my game using Condition and Checkswitch as the key command. Both of the samples will experience the Live preview error AFTER the Stab series of messages.
Thanks for your help!
PS I am using the VNM_E that I downloaded directly from the website around May 2019 - ver 1.0.1077. I tried to see if there have been any updates, but I can't find updated download links on the website as it's just pointing to Steam now.
