Family Tree Privacy

Version 2026-08-12.1 | Effective 2026-08-12

Respect living people

Family trees can contain personal information about people who do not use BMMPLAY. Members must use the feature carefully and only add information they are authorized to share.

Privacy defaults

  • Trees and living-person records remain private by default.
  • Do not publish a living person without permission.
  • Information about minors must remain private and should be minimized.
  • Use only the minimum birth-date detail needed; avoid publishing full dates for living people.
  • Public trees should not expose private records or allow unauthorized exports.

Requests and reports

A person may report a privacy, safety, identity, or accuracy concern involving a family-tree record. BMMPLAY may hide information while it reviews the request and may require identity or authority verification.
